His early years in the UK saw him start life as a tradesman working in a naval base and working up to supervisor. Subsequent development and education led to Alec spending many years at the Atomic Weapons Establishment as a welding engineer; developing specialised welding procedures on exotic materials, using state-of-the-art welding equipment.
Alec has held the IIW International Welding Engineer qualification for over 20 years.Some 16 years ago, with an urge to see the southern hemisphere so he moved to New Zealand where he managed fabrication at a specialist mining equipment company. Seeing the light 12 years ago, he moved to Australia and worked as the welding engineer for the project that built the world class nuclear reactor at the Lucas Heights facility.

Graham has found his life calling in the field of welding. Welding is his passion. Graham has spent his entire working career in the pursuit of developing his skills and knowledge of welding. With a trade as the foundation to his current professional role he has developed into one of industries leading welding inspection and consultancy professionals.
He is the director of Technoweld, he has compiled a group of staff that many of his clients consider to be one of the countries foremost welding management and advisory teams.
Technoweld is a welding inspection and supervision company, who has experience in all manufacturing sectors covering both pressure equipment and structural disciplines. Technoweld offers a wide range of services including supplying pre-qualified welding procedures to standards such as AS/NZS1554.1, AS/NZS 3992, ASME IX, B31.3, AWS D1.1, conducting reviews of fabricators welder qualifications, welding supervision, welding inspection, coating inspection, QA documentation processes, QA/QC documents and assesses the efficiency and effectiveness of what is currently implemented and provides direction on improvements.
Technoweld has a welder training facility that is purpose built and strategically located in the heart of the industrial area of Adelaide. Technoweld provides training from basic to the most advanced welding and fabrication skills to assist develop your workforce into the best it can be.
Graham is one of the founders of the Australian Welding Institute and he has developed a vast network of liked minded professionals locally and globally.

His speciality is in welding automation and robotics. He worked in world renowned companies as a leader in robotics and remote control technology.
He then worked for ESAB, the world’s largest welding and cutting company as Technical Manager for the ESAB Asia/Pacific region solving technical issues and commissioning equipment all over Asia. He then moved to ESAB headquarters in Sweden still specialising in Automation.
After 18 years with ESAB, he returned to Australia to develop and expand Hardface Technologys – an industry leader in rail track welding and reclamation.
He states that:
